Back on the road again!
In my last update, we had left Tennessee and were headed toward Kansas City!
On our way out of Nashville, we stopped by a Hattie B’s Hot Chicken for lunch. My “small” plate was actually a heaping CHONK of chicken and a darn delicious one at that!
From there we drove through Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, and into Kansas where we were welcomed by a dear friend and his lovely family.
The next morning, we woke up early and shared a nutritious breakfast before saying our goodbyes. From there, our next stop was Colorado Springs!
Most of the drive to CO was spent in Kansas, and boy! They weren’t joking when they called ’em “The Plains”. The biggest event of this drive was our first encounter with fire! (Peep the video here)
The next 3 days spent in Colorado were like a dream! We drank natural mineral water from a spring. We saw a mountain and climbed it. We shared time and space with kind and encouraging souls who helped make this journey so much more than I ever imagined it would be.
Not to be forgotten easily, Colorado blew me away one last time on our way out. We took I-70 through the Rocky Mountains and WOW!! This drive was breathtakingly beautiful! The mountains are so humbling; they remind you how small you are and how expansive the universe is.
I’m grateful for the ways we have been blessed along the way. I’m grateful for the beautiful and wonderful souls who have helped us along the way. I’m grateful for the truths and treasures that nature reveals.
All for now. Stay curious, y’all.
