Travel Diary 1

Day 5 of travel is already coming to a close..

So far we’ve received blessings beyond the wildest stretches of our imagination and come face to face with exciting new challenges.

We began our expedition in Jacksonville after a day of dotting i’s and crossing t’s to prepare for the trip. Our last night in Florida was spent with the Grimes family, receiving all of their nurturing and encouraging energy before hitting the road.

Quickly making a detour, we stopped at Spirit of Suwannee Music Park. This beautiful park hosts a powerful energy between the trees. If you’ve never experienced the magic of Suwannee, I highly recommend camping here or attending a festival once they return.

Just hours before we left Jacksonville, we got to meet up with fam who were camping on their way to Florida from Colorado. We spent a couple of hours reminiscing stories from Suwannee and other past adventures. It was a blessing from Mother Nature that we would all be able to come together in such an enchanting and thought provoking place.

We hopped back on the highway and headed north to Chattanooga, but what should’ve been an 8 hour drive turned into a 15 hour drive.

We took driving shifts, but hadn’t packed perfectly the first time. It was difficult to rest while the other was driving. We pulled over to sleep for a few hours as a precaution once we passed Atlanta.

A few hours into nap time, we were feeling refreshed and ready to go!

From there we headed to Chattanooga, making a quick stop to hug yet another dear friend who was working right off the highway.

While we spent more hours on the road than expected, the encounters with loved ones along the way made it worth the while. We finally reached our first destination in Tennessee, where we spent 3 days of relaxation with my family.

Time spent with those who love you most is good for the soul. Essential.

I could not do what I do without the love and encouragement I receive from my family, my community, my tribe.

2020 has forced me to distance in some ways, but that makes this time with my people all the more special.

Thank you to all who continue to encourage us along the way. Thank you to those who have blessed us with your energy so far.

All for now, but much more to come!

Be sweet. Be safe. Be curious, my friends.
